01 — A different frame for medicine

Health is more than the absence of disease.

Disease-oriented medicine was built for a world of infection and acute illness — and it still excels there. Treating illness and disease is essential. But much of what determines your health and capacity for life is shaped by foundational habits that most medical visits rarely address.

Human Capacity Framework

You work from a current picture of you.

We build an evolving view of your health and physical capacity alongside the habits and conditions that shape it.

  • Current state — meaningful measures of health, risk, and capacity
  • Current environment — training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and other influences
  • Change over time — what is improving, drifting, or needs attention next

Together, these show where you are, what is shaping you, and where you have the greatest opportunity to grow.

Disease-Oriented Framework

Something needs attention, then we intervene.

Medicine is necessarily organized around symptoms, diagnoses, visits, and procedures. Records capture those episodes well, but they may reveal much less about the conditions shaping health between them.

  • Necessary when a problem appears
  • Focused on the specific concern at hand
  • Success means the issue is addressed

We provide excellent general medical care and widen the frame around it. Medicine is one of the disciplines we use — not the only one.

02 — Measurement

Know your current state

We track a carefully selected set of measurements that matter for health, risk, and capacity. Not everything that can be measured deserves your attention.

Current state
80%
  • Vitals & wearables

Blood pressure, resting heart rate, HRV, and sleep tracking — integrated strategically, not collected obsessively.

  • Metabolic health

Glucose regulation, lipids, liver and kidney function, thyroid function, and other markers selected for the individual.

  • Cardiovascular risk

Blood pressure, lipoproteins, family history, exposures, and imaging or additional testing when it can meaningfully refine risk or change a decision.

  • Strength

Objective measures of force and physical capability — tracked against the individual and over time.

  • Aerobic capacity

The ability to sustain work, deliver oxygen, and recover — one of the strongest integrated signals of physical capacity.

  • Mobility & movement

Range of motion, movement quality, and balance that support daily life, training, and injury prevention.

  • Body composition

Muscle, fat, bone, and their distribution — a more useful representation than body weight alone.

  • Recovery & resilience

Sleep, recovery, training load, stress, and other factors that influence the ability to absorb demands and adapt.

  • Prevention & risk

Family history, age-appropriate screening, individual exposures, and known risks — pursued when understanding them creates an opportunity to act.

Individually, these are measurements. Together, they describe the current state of a person.

The goal isn't more data. It's enough of the right data to understand what matters, recognize change, and make better decisions.

03 — Build capacity

The levers that change the system.

These are not separate services. They are the environment you create for yourself — the foundational habits that drive health and capacity. Medicine and scientific rigor support that work, and we help you focus on what matters most right now.

Training

Strength and endurance training provide the primary stimulus for building muscle and fitness.

Nutrition

The primary driver of body composition and metabolic health.

Sleep/Recovery

Protecting the window where adaptation and repair actually happen.

Medications & supplements

Used decisively when they are the right tool, reviewed honestly when they are not.

Screening interventions

Targeted testing and early detection when it can refine risk or change a decision.

The bar on each input is not a score. It is a reminder that these levers do not carry equal weight for every person — and that deciding where to spend your effort is a strategic judgment worth making carefully.

04 — See change over time

Know where you are. See what is changing.

A single result tells us where you are today. Following meaningful measurements over time shows what is stable, improving, or drifting — giving you the feedback to act early and adjust what you are doing now.

05 — Medicine when you need it

A physician engaged in both your health and your potential.

Develop Medical Group is a physician-led, evidence-informed general medical practice designed around meaningful physician engagement, access to medical expertise, and time for thoughtful decision-making.

In our practice, the physician's role does not begin and end with medical problems. We engage proactively alongside your training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and the other foundational habits that shape your health and capacity. We help you interpret your current state and apply the rigor of medical science to identify limitations and opportunities, manage risk, and use medicine when it can meaningfully support what you are trying to accomplish.

Today's concern is one element within the longer arc of building and protecting capacity.

The result is a physician relationship designed not only to manage health and disease, but to support the ongoing development of your capacity for life.

  • 01Acute concernsAn intentionally small patient panel allows prompt attention and responsiveness when something comes up.
  • 02Chronic disease managementHypertension, cholesterol, thyroid and hormonal support, and other ongoing conditions — managed actively and thoughtfully.
  • 03Medication managementCareful review, clear reasoning, appropriate treatment, and honest deprescribing when medications no longer add value.
  • 04Diagnostic evaluationWhen concern or dysfunction comes up, we take the time to understand it and pursue the appropriate evaluation.
  • 05Medical decision-makingAccess to a physician to provide context, explain tradeoffs, and think alongside you when the right decision is not obvious.
  • 06Human capacityYour goals do not have to begin with something being wrong. Strength, endurance, recovery, body composition, metabolic health, and physical performance can all be approached with the same rigor we bring to medicine. We can measure what matters, identify potential limitations, and apply medical expertise where it can help you safely pursue your potential.

07 — Physician relationship

Better decisions come from better context.

Medical expertise becomes more useful when it is grounded in context — when your physician understands your goals, has seen how your health and capacity are changing, and has the time to think through what those changes mean. You make the decisions; the physician brings clinical judgment, interpretation, and access to the full capability of medicine. Less gatekeeper, more guide — a physician who helps you see yourself clearly and choose what to work on next. That kind of working relationship requires time and engagement, which is why this practice is structured the way it is.
